K Beard & Associates, LLC has a team of professional, dedicated and experienced faculty who promote excellence in nursing by providing high quality educational programs. Our faculty help you succeed in nursing school and on the NCLEX exam.

Dr. Beard has over 30 years of nursing experience in acute and long term care settings. She received her Doctoral Degree from Dowling College and her Masters in Adult Health from Stony Brook University. She is the founder of Long Island Adult Health, an NP owned and operated company that  provides primary care to homebound patients. She is board certified in Nursing Education, Acute Care, Geriatrics and as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Beard currently serves on the editorial board for the American Journal of Nursing. She is a fellow in the New York Academy of Medicine. She has published several articles and lectures on best practices for educating nursing students. Her expertise in nursing and her ability to deliver dynamic lectures has helped hundreds of nurses pass the NCLEX-RN and safely care for patients!

John Gonzalez DNP RN ACNP-BC NP-C

Dr. Gonzalez has over 20 years of experience in nursing which spans many health care settings. He is a dual board certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Adult Nurse Practitioner. He holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Texas Woman's University and a Master's of Science in Adult Health Nursing from Stony Brook University. Dr. Gonzalez has experience in acute care, ambulatory care, home health, public health, HIV/AIDS, insurance case management (workers compensation, disability and health insurance), research, and education. He maintains a current clinical practice with the hospitalist service at Parkland Health and Hospital System and is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington in the Acute Care NP Program

Lisa Dyer MEd, BA

Professor Dyer is our math and reading extraordinaire. She holds an undergraduate degree from Penn State University and a Master’s degree in Education from Queens College, School of Education. She has tutored for many years and has helped many students who wanted to give up, successfully pass national exams. She currently teaches math for the New York City Department of Education. Students personally request to be in her class because her tutoring style creates phenomenal results like no other!
