Dr. Kenya V Beard EdD, AGACNP, ANEF, FAAN, FADLN

Dr. Beard is a nationally recognized nurse leader, educator, and patient safety advocate whose work has influenced nursing education and healthcare policy nationwide. A trusted expert in NCLEX and pharmacology reviews, she has prepared generations of nurses for licensure and strengthened their capacity to deliver safe, effective care for nearly three decades. She is a 2012 Macy Faculty Scholar and continues to teach negotiation and innovation at the Harvard Macy Institute, equipping healthcare leaders with the tools to drive meaningful transformation.

 

A former Chair of the New York State Board of Nursing, Dr. Beard has shaped healthcare policy and workforce transformation at the highest levels. She serves as Vice Chair of the American Academy of Nursing’s Institute for Nursing Leadership and on the editorial board of the American Journal of Nursing. With more than 45 publications, her contributions to nursing have earned her national recognition, including the prestigious Mary Elizabeth Carnegie Leadership Award.

 

A highly sought-after speaker, she has delivered over 200 keynotes and workshops and advises organizations on leadership, policy, and the ethical integration of artificial intelligence in healthcare and education. She is also co-editor of Nursing Education in the AI Era, one of the first books to guide nurse educators in preparing the next generation of nurses for safe practice in a rapidly evolving, technology-driven healthcare arena. Dr. Beard is a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine, the Academy of Diversity Leaders in Nursing, the National League for Nursing Academy of Nurse Educators, and the American Academy of Nursing.
